Wash day in Laredo, Texas.
We went to the nearest laundromat with at least 5 loads of laundry.
Get there and the sign reads “30 cents a pound on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursday.”
I think, “what the heck?” and tote load after load up to the counter.
The nice young lady at the counter doesn’t speak English so she can’t understand my “is it weighed wet or dry?” question. She just points to the scale.
Again, I think “what the heck? … let’s give this a try”.
So, we left our goods with her and went touring around Laredo and vicinity for several hours.
Returning to pick up our washed, fluffed and folded laundry, I practiced my un-shocked face… expecting a HUGE bill, yet not wanting to look stupid.
“Quanto cuesta?” I asked when I handed in the claim form.
“21.58” came the reply (via a paper bill).
Seriously?
Doing 5 loads of laundry ourselves would have cost at least $20, but this was washed, dried, fluffed, folded and vacuum bagged … all for under 22 bucks AND we had all that time to enjoy ourselves.
WOW! Totally worth it. 🙂

Wow! Wish I live closer to Laredo, TX. In So Cal I laundry day is about $50.00 average for washers and driers and I get to fold–what a deal.

Hey Boots,
50 bucks! Wow. That’s highway robbery. Is that at RV parks, ’cause I don’t remember it being that expensive in LA, San Fran or San Diego.
Cheers,

That’s really a great deal. I would say it is the best deal anyone could get for laundry. About California, you may get unexpected high rates based on the location. Not sure, what place Boots Gibson is referring to.

That is excellent service. When we were in Humble Texas I had to clean the machines before we could use them and in Galveston at the hotel I used their machines and my clothes came out dirtier than when they went in. It was disgusting. But.. we had a lot of laughs about it and when we found a good laundromat we sure appreciated it.
