Nothing is worse than not being able to sleep when you’re on the road because of some awful hotel pillow – or not having a pillow at all.
I actually have a selection of different travel pillows depending on what type of trip I’m taking.
I always take my own pillow to use in hotel rooms and our RV.
If I’m flying to my destination and it’s going to be a long flight, I also bring a neck pillow, because those darned airline seats don’t fit my body. 🙂
Below, I’ve included just 2 possible options if you too feel the need to bring your own pillow when you travel.

I am worried about some of the hotels’ pillow, due to hygiene issue. But it’s still quite troublesome to bring my own pillow as it takes up a lot of space. Unless I bring an inflatable one, which is not really comfortable in most cases. 🙂

Earlier this year, we finally invested in Tempur-Pedic Swedish Neck Pillows, and we’ve already made the investment back through fewer visits to the chiropractor. When we are driving to our destination, the pillows definitely come along. When in Bangkok, staying at a top downtown hotel, we were thrilled to discover they had a “pillow menu” to choose from and were able to have them bring us similar pillows!
I’ll never forget one impromptu weekend trip to a mountain timeshare many years ago, that was made miserable due to ridiculously hard and overstuffed pillows – it was like they came off the couch! Bad pillows can really ruin an otherwise lovely trip.
