Emily Gillette, 27, of Santa Fe, N.M., was kicked off a Freedom Airlines flight at the Burlington, Vermont airport for breastfeeding her baby.
Ms. Gillette claimed that no part of her breast was showing while she was seated in the window seat of the next to last row and her husband was seated in the aisle seat.
The flight attentant told her to cover up and when she tried to give her a blanket, Ms. Gillette refused, claiming her legal right to feed her baby.
Ms. Gillette has filed a complaint with the Vermont Human Rights Commission against Freedom Airlines and Delta Air Lines (which was handling the flight).
The flight attendant has been disciplined, although no details about the disciplinary action have been released.

Just read this post …….. How AWFUL! There are some of us Mum’s out here where our little one refuses to take a bottle ……. that leaves one option …… the breast …….. How would you like to eat with a blanket thrown over your head!!!! Not to mention that airline seats are so cramped and it gets awfully hot under a blanket ……. once a baby has latched on you can’t see anything ……. and in my experience no one minds a Mum breastfeeding …… most people respectfully turn away! I don’t commend Air Canada that often, but boy am I glad that I was treated WAY better on our recent flight with them!
