What’s with L.A. drivers?
They seem to like driving on the line.
When I’m driving a big Ford 1-ton, it just doesn’t make sense that a tiny Mercedes would try to force me to the edge of my lane.
OK, I’m not trying to make excuses…
I hit a medical transfer vehicle’s mirror with my mirror the other day because I let myself be ‘pushed’.
The damage was far less than if I’d held my middle lane position but it was still scary.
Fortunately, other than one broken mirror on the other vehicle and a couple of scratches on Ed’s truck, no one was hurt — although you’d think someone had died listening to Ed carp about the 3 scratches on his truck. 🙂
Lucky for me, the vehicle driver and owner were absolutely fabulous and reasonable. The owner was just as concerned about damage to our vehicle as theirs — and basically he agreed over the phone to ‘let it go’.
Wow… not what I expected in L.A.!!!

Some day you two will get smart and get a Smart car. Yes room you you two and Jasper. no room for anything else so you will be not tempted to buy that which you do not need.

Interesting thought, Grant. But it’s hard to pull a 34 foot 5th wheel with a Smart car and we do need a week’s worth of groceries when we go camping in the boonies.
BTW, have you ever driven a Smart car?
I test drove one and it was one of the worst rides I’ve ever experienced. The thing lurches so bad when it changes gears that it could make you sick and it was an automatic.
As for buying things which you do not need… that is already taken care of when you live in an RV for months at a time.

LA was the worst vacation I’ve ever had – mostly because we rented a car! They really don’t care who is in that lane – they just get in it! Everyone else is invisible! I don’t think we’ll ever go back.

Hey Evelyn,
Sorry that I didn’t see your comments earlier — they went to spam, unfortunately.
I hear ya, for sure. I actually preferred driving with the RV behind us. Just turn the signal on and folks would get out of my way… the L.A. way. Kinda liked it once I learned that was how it worked. LOL
Cheers,
Ros
