We were on Highway 2 south of Calgary and passing through the town of Nanton when we spotted a sigh for the The Nanton Lancaster Society Air Museum. Being aviation buffs a visit was required. The Museum is dedicated to Bomber Command during World War II and there is a memorial outside that lists the names of the 10,000 Canadians who died while serving. Oklahoma in Alberta
Our plan was to drive from Edmonton to near the entrance to Glacier National Park in Montana. The closest place that accommodations could be found was the town of Cardston, Alberta. Jammin in Glacier National Park
The red buses you will see on "The Going To The Sun Road" are as much an attraction as Glacier Park itself. These coaches were built by the White Motor Company in the 1930's. They feature a rollback canvas top that allows for breathtaking views of the mountains. West Edmonton Mall – Worth A Look
We had just arrived in Edmonton from Jasper. The route to our hotel passed the West Edmonton Mall, so since I had never been there we decided to have a look. The mall opened in 1981 and was the largest in the world until 2004. It is still the largest mall in North America. Parking was not a problem and we ventured into the shopping center. Mount Edith Cavell – A Must See
No trip to Jasper would be complete without a visit to Mount Edith Cavell. I think it is one of the most beautiful mountains in the Rockies.
